Discover Our New Service! The Prenatal Massage!

Why you should consider it?

While pregnancy can be beautiful, it can also be exhausting. As your body works to nourish the growing baby inside you, you may feel exhausted all the time. Your body also naturally spikes in estrogen and progesterone, which may cause mood swings.

You’re also carrying around more weight than you’re used to — the average pregnant woman gains 20-40 pounds. A prenatal massage can help restore your energy, improve your mood, and rub away the aches and pains. Not to mention, it will put you into a deep state of relaxation that you may never want to leave.

What are the benefits?

Even the word “massage” may create a warm, fuzzy feeling. While your prenatal massage will spark this warm and pleasant feeling, it will also offer many health benefits. A prenatal massage may:

  • Reduce swelling
  • Provide pain relief
  • Improve your quality of sleep
  • Reduce your anxiety and depression
  • Improve circulation
  • Oxygenate your muscles and tissues
  • Reduce edema

Prenatal massages are an all-natural way to improve your labor outcome and the health of your baby.

When to get them?

Stress can cloud your mind and throw off your body’s rhythm. Stress is also linked to many health problems. To reduce your stress and pave the way for a healthy pregnancy, it is best to get regular prenatal massages that coincide with your monthly physician checkups.

After your first trimester, we suggest scheduling a massage once a month until your 27th week. Then you can schedule them every other week until your 36th week, and weekly thereafter until you go into labor.

Once you have your baby, we strongly suggest you continue your self-care plan by getting postpartum massages. Many of our patients find this helps alleviate some of the hardships this time can bring while making them a better mother.
